 Prior to forming Secret Ingredient Marketing, David was SVP, Global Strategy & Business Development Director working on YUM Brands business around the globe. He has spent several years working exclusively with the marketers of YUM Brands, helping create and execute sales-driving marketing and advertising and was the chief strategic leader behind the long-term success of Taco Bell’s “Think Outside The Bun” campaign.
Recognized as a food innovation expert with extensive hands-on experience working with and developing insight-driven product innovation processes and techniques, David is currently a faculty member of the YUM Marketing University, teaching market research, consumer insights, and marketing best practices.
David is also a skilled marketing research practitioner who creates innovative, actionable and highly reliable research plans using a wide assortment of methodologies, ranging from data-driven multi-variate analysis to observation-driven qualitative field study.
Over the course of his career, David has won numerous Effie awards for marketing effectiveness and several awards for advertising excellence, including the prestigious D&AD Black Pencil award. He has been a featured speaker at marketing conferences and a contributing author to ADWEEK Magazine.
